Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal information Bachyug ("we", "us") collects when you use our website and app to search for PGs, tiffin, restaurants, laundry and other local services in Nashik, why we collect it, and the choices you have. It applies to users, and separately to vendors who list a business with us.

• Account information: your name, mobile number, and email if you provide one.
• Enquiry information: the mobile number, move-in date and message you submit when you contact a listing owner.
• Usage information: which listings you view, save and search for, used to show you more relevant results.
• Location information: only if you use "use my location" or the Nearby page, and only for the duration needed to show nearby results — we do not track your location in the background.
• Device and log information: IP address (hashed before storage for view counts), browser type and basic diagnostics, for security and to keep the service reliable.

• To connect you with a listing owner when you send an enquiry — your name, mobile number and message are shared with that specific owner only.
• To verify your mobile number via a one-time password (OTP) before your enquiry is delivered — this stops fake and spam enquiries from reaching owners.
• To show you saved listings, past enquiries and reviews in your account.
• To send you enquiry-status updates and, if you opt in, product and offer notifications.
• To detect fraud, abuse, and fake listings reported by users.

We share your enquiry details only with the specific vendor whose listing you contacted — never with any other vendor, and never sold to third-party marketers. We may share information with law enforcement if legally required, or with service providers who help us run the platform (such as our SMS/OTP provider and cloud hosting), bound by confidentiality obligations.

• You can edit your profile information any time from Account settings.
• You can turn off push, SMS, email or WhatsApp notifications individually from Account → Settings.
• You can delete your account permanently from Account → Settings — this removes your saved listings, enquiries and reviews from Bachyug.
• You can ask us what personal data we hold about you by writing to us via the Contact page.

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. Enquiry records are kept for a reasonable period to support dispute resolution and to power your enquiry history, even after an individual listing is removed. Deleting your account removes your personal data from active systems; some records may be retained where required by law (for example, transaction records for tax purposes).

Passwords are stored using industry-standard hashing (never in plain text), OTPs are single-use and expire quickly, and phone numbers are masked in every screen and API response except to the party specifically entitled to see them. No system is 100% secure, but we treat your contact information as sensitive by default.

We'll update the date at the top of this page whenever we make a material change, and — for significant changes — notify you in-app before they take effect.

Questions about this policy or your data can be sent through our Contact page.
