"No brokerage" — what it actually means on Bachyug
8 Mar 20263 min read
Most students and working professionals who've rented before assume "no brokerage" is a catch — that the fee shows up later as a higher rent, or a hidden "service charge" at move-in.
On Bachyug, it doesn't, because we don't charge users at all, at any point — searching, comparing, contacting the owner and moving in are all free, permanently.
We charge PG, tiffin and laundry partners a listing/subscription fee instead, similar to how a shop pays for a storefront rather than charging every customer who walks in to look around.
The one number worth remembering: if anyone claiming to represent Bachyug asks you for a payment to "confirm" a listing or "unlock" an owner's number, it isn't us — report it immediately from the listing page.
